Multi-parameterized Schwarz Alternating Method for 3d-problem†

چکیده
The convergence rate of a numerical procedure based on Schwarz Alternating Method(SAM) for solving elliptic boundary value problems depends on the selection of the interface conditions applied on the interior boundaries of the overlapping subdomains. It has been observed that the Robin condition (mixed interface condition), controlled by a parameter, can optimize SAM’s convergence rate. In [7], one formulated the multi-parameterized SAM and determined the optimal values of the multi-parameters to produce the best convergence rate for one-dimensional elliptic boundary value problems. Two-dimensional implementation was presented in [8]. In this paper, we present an implementation for threedimensional problem. AMS Mathematics Subject Classification : 65N35, 65N05, 65F10.

Domain decomposition algorithms based on the Schwarz alternating method are developed for the numerical solution of singularly perturbed semi-linear elliptic problems. The emphasis is given to the description of two variants of the algorithm (multi-domain Schwarz alternating method and two-level Schwarz method) as well as their computer realization on a distributed memory multi-processor comput...

In this paper an analogue of the Schwarz alternating method is considered to nd a minimal eigenvalue and its corresponding eigenvector of generalized symmetric eigenvalue problem. The technique suggested is based on decomposition of the original domain into overlapping subdomains and on consideration of local eigenvalue problems in subdomains. Both multiplicative and additive variants of the me...
متن کاملMaximum Norm Analysis of a Nonmatching Grids Method for Nonlinear Elliptic Boundary Value Problem −Δu = f(u)
We provide a maximum norm analysis of a finite element Schwarz alternating method for a nonlinear elliptic boundary value problem of the form −Δu = f(u), on two overlapping sub domains with non matching grids. We consider a domain which is the union of two overlapping sub domains where each sub domain has its own independently generated grid. The two meshes being mutually independent on the ove...
